i slept last night in our bed alone
cramped tight against sweat-
smothered pillows and wrapped up
in winding-cloth sheets
wilted like the flowers you left
on the kitchen table a lifetime ago,
lily petals sagging and baby’s
breath crumbling to ruin
amidst a jumble of empty glasses and
yesterday’s neglected news;
this morning even the coffee smells
lonely.
wow so open! isn’t it such a beauty that we have writting as a form to express what is not tangible?:our feelings.not sure what would be the best for you,but if it is for your long lost love to return i wish that! 🙂
Love the last two lines 🙂 Everything in this poem is so perfect and i loved it, sadness which is like a still-life picture, no feeling, no movement and emotions, Thank for sharing^^
tq for sharing..
Love is good but can bring such sadness at the same time. I could feel the emotion from your heart in this one. Let your light keep on shining. Thank you x
wise words,
love has two sides,
it depends on how we take and react on it…

So vivid described are the pictures, that there really was nothing left for me to imagine.. very well done!
You have beautifully portrayed here the picture of sadness and of being ditched .. it is sad, but extremely delicately and well done
